Refund policy
Returns, Refunds & Cancellations
At The Balmy Studio, every piece of furniture is individually handcrafted to order on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. We take pride in our workmanship and carefully inspect each piece before delivery.
Handmade Furniture & Natural Timber
As our furniture is handcrafted, natural variations in timber grain, colour, texture and character are to be expected. These variations make each piece unique and do not necessarily constitute a defect.
Change of Mind
As our furniture is made to order, we do not offer returns, refunds or exchanges for change of mind, incorrect selections or changes in personal circumstances, except where required by Australian Consumer Law.
We encourage customers to carefully confirm their dimensions, finishes, colours and design details before placing an order.
Payments, Deposits & Order Cancellations
All furniture at The Balmy Studio is handcrafted to order.
Website Orders
Orders placed directly through our website require full payment at checkout.
Custom Orders
For custom furniture orders arranged directly with The Balmy Studio, a 50% deposit is generally required before production commences. The remaining balance is payable upon completion and prior to delivery.
Cancellations
Once production has commenced, payments made towards an order are generally non-refundable for change-of-mind cancellations, subject to Australian Consumer Law and applicable contract requirements.
This reflects the materials, labour and other costs committed to manufacturing furniture specifically for each customer.
Cancellation requests received before production commences will be considered individually, taking into account any costs already reasonably incurred.
Any amount retained following cancellation will be subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the order.
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes customers' rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Faults, Damage & Consumer Guarantees
Our furniture comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
If a product has a fault, arrives damaged, is not as described or does not meet applicable consumer guarantees, please contact us so we can assess the issue and arrange an appropriate remedy.
Depending on the circumstances and the requirements of Australian Consumer Law, remedies may include repair, replacement or refund. Customers may be entitled to choose a refund or replacement where there is a major failure.
